Delivering the LEADER approach in Staffordshire

What is it?
Funded through the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) LEADER approach. Communities Mean Business is a £1.4m area based community regeneration programme which will operate until December 2013.

What will it deliver?
The Programme has been designed to enhance the vibrancy and sustainability of rural communities through the provision of improved local services and community facilities combined with the conservation and upgrading of the natural and built heritage. It will deliver against the following RDPE measures:

  • Basic Services for the economy and rural population;
  • Village renewal and development;
  • Conservation and upgrading of the rural heritage;
  • Training and information

How much funding is available?
Grants from £3,000 are available until December 2013. In the majority of cases, applicants will be expected to fund 25% of the project costs themselves but this can be done through an in kind contribution to the project.
